Enjoy an evening of music and food
It has been a long, wet winter and no one is looking forward to the arrival of spring more than the Royal Welsh Spring Festival organising committee.
Taking place at the showground in Llanelwedd, Builth Wells on 19 and 20 May, the Royal Welsh Spring Festival is a fantastic weekend-long celebration of smallholding and rural life.
To make the most of the time of year, the spring like weather (fingers crossed!) and the longer days, the Spring Festival will be open later into the evening on Saturday 19 May until 9pm.
Once all the hustle and bustle of the busy livestock competitions, action-packed programme of displays, main ring performances, demonstrations and workshops has died down a little, the Food and Drink Quarter will burst into life with an array of street food stalls and producers selling all manner of delicacies and delights.
Whilst you spend the evening feasting on the very best artisan food and drink sourced and produced from within Wales and the border counties, you will be able to enjoy listening to local folk bands and performers.
The Spring Festival will be open until 8pm on Saturday 19 May… come along to the Spring Festival and enjoy an evening of live music and delicious street food with friends
Fred Slater, Chair of the Spring Festival Committee, is looking forward to the evening entertainment; “Of all our society events, the Spring Festival is the most family orientated and relaxed. It offers the perfect day out and we have increasingly noticed that our visitors are not ready to leave and return home by 5pm.
“At a time of year when we are enjoying the longer, lighter evenings and the prospect of fine weather, we wanted to continue the celebration of rural life into the evening. We very much look forward to inviting you all to stay longer, or coming over to join us, and enjoy a spring evening of music and food with friends.”
The festival will remain open until 8pm with free entry into the showground after 5pm.
Remember, all children aged 16 and under can come to the Spring Festival all day for free.
