Food Skills Centre

This year's Spring Festival will see an exciting new venture as part of the Food and Drink
Quarter with the introduction of a Food Skills Centre. Situated alongside the Street Food
Area, it will focus on improving the awareness of careers in the food and drink industry and
demonstrate some of the skills required.

Welsh Government

Tasty Careers is your one stop shop to finding a Tasty Career in the Food & Drink industry.If you want to find out more about a specific career in the industry, hear from people already in the industry or are finding job hunting a bit unsavoury, then look no further – we can help! A career in the Food & Drink industry is a whole lot sweeter, so use your waffle and take a look!

  

 

Lantra

Food Skills Cymru is a Welsh Government programme, delivered by Lantra, providing a £3m support package to the food; and drink manufacturing industry in Wales. The programme will fund the delivery of technical and staff development training to food and drink businesses located in Wales. Companies interested in engaging with the programme will also be entitled to a free skill diagnostic, which will help them create a workforce development plan for their
business.

 

Cywain

Cywain is a Menter a Busnes project aimed to help develop new products or markets for food and drink produce in Wales by facilitating collaboration between producers, processors and retailers as well as offering expert advice, knowledge and mentoring. At the Spring Festival Cywain will offer the opportunity for an inside view of the key skills some of our clients have acquired in order to develop an idea into a profitable business. Young adults will also get to explore the progress and skill that goes into conducting market research for their own ideas in our "What's your idea?" section, with our dedicated development officers at hand to offer guidance.

 

Cambrian Training Company

Cambrian Training will be springing into action at this year's Spring Festival to let you 'have a go' at Omelette Making. The friendly team will be inspiring your inner chef and are on hand to talk about your career and business support opportunities available to you in Wales.

Food Innovation Wales

Food Innovation Wales brings together three food centres of excellence dedicated to encouraging the development of the food sector and providing technical and operational support on all aspects of food manufacturing in Wales. They will be demonstrating the sensory testing of food products for people to get involved with; have information about their Summer School and New Product Development competition for school children; and a case study involving bugs as an alternative environmentally sustainable source of protein and inparticular their innovative Cricket Cookies.
