The 150 acre Royal Welsh Showground is open all year round. We host an array of exciting events set against the spectacular views of the Welsh countryside.

The Showground boasts many different venues catering for a variety of occasions such as weddings, business meetings, conferences, concerts, exhibitions and much more.

Marketing & Press Coordinator

(Maternity Cover – Fixed Term Contract)

We are looking for a creative, dynamic and motivated Marketing & Press Coordinator to join our team playing a central role in the promotion and communications for the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society and events; including the Royal Welsh Show, Winter Fair and Smallholding & Countryside Festival. This is an opportunity covering a maternity leave absence.

Key Responsibilities

The role is both broad and varied; covering all aspects of Marketing and public relations for the Society and the three major events and will include:

  • Delivering a bilingual and vibrant communications plan through presentations, press releases and newsletters.
  • Liaising with and answering enquiries from the media, public, and other partner organisations.
  • Continually developing the Society’s Website and App.
  • Facilitating press requirements at events.
  • Liaising with television, radio, and press officials.
  • Producing effective campaigns to build engagement, enhance the Societies profile with an objective to increase revenue.
  • An opportunity to be innovative, creative in concepts with the aim of promoting all aspects of the Society including events, charitable involvement, recruitment.
  • Imaginative in designing, presentation with excellent vocabulary for content within leaflets, reports, brochures etc.
  • Have an awareness of working within budgets and adhere to critical timescales.
  • Has the ability in effective communication working alongside a cross section of personnel, including high profile influencers.

Salary: £24,000 p/a
Location: Royal Welsh Showground, Llanelwedd / Hybrid remote
Hours: Full-Time – Fixed term contract (July 2024 – August 2025)

Personal Assistant to the Chief Executive

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Personal Assistant to provide PA/secretarial and administrative support to the Chief Executive.

The Personal Assistant provides high level administrative support and assistance to the Chief Executive and designated committees.  The PA is responsible for carrying out a range of administration duties, as set out below, to a high professional standard whilst maintaining confidentiality.

Main Responsibilities

  • Organising, preparing agendas and taking minutes at meetings and ensuring the Chief Executive is well prepared,
  • Producing documents, briefing papers, reports and sharing relevant information or actions with colleagues,
  • Devising and maintaining office systems, including secure data management and filing,
  • Screening phone calls, enquiries and requests, and handling them when appropriate,
  • Diary management and arranging appointments,
  • Dealing with incoming correspondence and drafting letters as appropriate
  • To assist the Chief Executive in arranging official functions and events,
  • Arranging travel, accommodation and, occasionally, attending meetings with the Chief Executive to take notes and/or to provide general assistance etc.
  • Supporting the Chief Executive in their role as Honorary Secretary of CARAS Cymru,
  • Supporting the Chief Executive through the administration of official RWAS awards.

Salary: £29,000 p/a
Location: Royal Welsh Showground, Llanelwedd / Hybrid remote
Hours: Full-Time (Mon-Fri)
