RWAS feature county fund is highly valued
11 June 2013
Supporters of the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society throughout Wales were praised for their generosity by the chairman of the society’s board of directors, Mr John T Davies, at the annual meeting of the society in Anglesey.
The society’s unique feature county fund was a highly valued income generator which every year provided financial contributions towards the development of projects on the showground, thus enhancing its reputation as one of the finest venues of its kind in Europe, he said.
Brecknock, the feature county in 2012, proved no exception, raising the remarkable sum of £245,000, part of which was spent on upgrading the former Welsh Government Pavilion on the showground at Llanelwedd, now renamed the Green Technology Pavilion, a new centre for environmental technology and sustainable resources.
This year’s feature county at the Royal Welsh Show is Anglesey and the AGM was held on the Anglesey Agricultural Society showground at Gwalchmai, near Holyhead.
