Royal Welsh Grassland Event 2016

27 January 2016

Now a regular and keenly anticipated bi-annual feature in the calendar, the Royal Welsh Grassland Event will be held this year on 9 June 2016 at the Rhug Estate, Corwen by kind permission of the Rt. Hon Lord Newborough ARAgS.

Organised by members of the Meirionnydd Feature County, under the leadership of their President W Richard Jones FLAA FRAgS, the 2016 event builds upon the success of previous events in Breconshire and Radnorshire and promises to be a fantastic day offering something of interest to farmers, contractors and the rural public.

There will be over 75 acres of demonstration plots on this fantastic site featuring examples of different grass leys and grass management techniques, forage trial plots with a wide range of the latest crops and varieties and working demonstrations of new machinery.

The Royal Welsh Grassland Event is on Thursday 9 June 2016 at the Rhug Estate, Corwen.

All this will be supported by tradestands providing the opportunity to see and learn about the latest machinery, grassland technologies and livestock equipment, as well as gaining access to the latest scientific research and having the chance to share knowledge and best practice.

Secretary of the organising committee, Alun Jones, is very much looking forward to the event; “As part of our feature year, Meirionnydd is proud to be hosting the Royal Welsh Grassland Event in June this year.”

“Despite being a few months away yet, a lot of hard work is already being done in preparation for what promises to be another great event.

“The dedicated website has recently gone live and is a great places for potential visitors, sponsors, demonstrators or tradestand holders to see for themselves what the event has to offer.”
