Eight new Fellows of Royal Agricultural Societies in Wales

Two farming brothers from Pembrokeshire who achieved the unique distinction in 2008 of being made Associates of the Royal Agricultural Societies have now become Fellows.  Michael and Rowland George of Wolfscastle, Haverfordwest, have received Fellowships for their continuing work as dairy farmers on improving and maximising the potential of the black and white dairy cow, in particular their Brynhyfryd herd of pedigree Holstein cattle, acclaimed as one of the best in Britain.

North Wales farmer Alwyn Jones of Camaes, Llangernyw, Abergele, has been made an Associate of the Royal Agricultural Societies for his high level of competence in keeping stock on an upland farm in Wales.

Farming honours for Welsh priest and community champion

A priest who is also a farmer has been made an Associate of the Royal Agricultural Societies.

As a farmer, the Reverend Canon Eileen Davies runs a 300 acre dairy and sheep enterprise at Llanllwni, Pencader, Carmarthenshire, in partnership with her husband, Dyfrig.

Carmarthenshire farmer Robert Ryan Owen of Penywaun, Trap, Llandeilo, one of the founder members of the Carmarthen Farm Liaison Team which was set up to help guide farmers through the bureaucratic maze of complex schemes, quotas and rules imposed on the agricultural industry, has been made an Associate of the Royal Agricultural Societies.
