Press and photography pass applications
We very much look forward to welcoming members of the press to the 2017 Royal Welsh Show.
The coverage of all our events is incredible and we are extremely grateful for it. However, such is the success and popularity of the Royal Welsh events, applications for press and photography passes are always heavily subscribed.
A link to the terms and conditions associated with applying for a press and photography pass can be found below. These are especially relevant to photographers, the numbers of applications from which have risen considerably in the past few years.

Over the course of the last few shows, we have received an increasing number of complaints regarding the number of photographers in the rings and how their presence can disrupt the judging, interrupt the enjoyment and views of the spectators and television cameras and, most importantly, cause a health and safety risk.
As a result this year we will be looking to restrict the number of passes issued, especially to photographers wishing to enter the main judging rings.
We have also introduced a dedicated photographer’s steward in the main ring and horse ring. These stewards will help manage personnel within the rings, facilitate photographers to get the photos they require and ensure that the judging proceeding are not disrupted. Please ensure that you comply with their requests and instructions.
At the request of the Royal Welsh Show committees, if the situation in the main judging rings is not improved by these small changes, then the number of photographers allowed into the rings at any one time will be limited in future years.
